< Back A.C.E. moves to establish Inquiry into Macarthur Health Services November 13th 2003 - N.S.W. Democrat MLC, Dr Arthur Chesterfield-Evans, has today announced the terms of reference for a proposed parliamentary inquiry into Macarthur Health Services. The Carr government is failing the people of South Western Sydney. They have failed to address the adequacy of patient care in Camden and Campbelltown public hospitals and people have been dying due to inadequate clinical and management practices, he said. The government has been slow to disclose the facts of what has been happening in Macarthur Health Services, he said. This is not satisfactory! I want an open and transparent public inquiry to identify the problems and devise solutions that will prevent future serious injury and even death! he said. The Government and the Opposition railroaded my previous attempt to get a parliamentary inquiry into Macarthur Health Services. Im sick and tired of their lame excuses! The family members of patients who tragically died deserve better! The people of Campbelltown and Camden deserve better! he said. If the Carr Government and the Opposition really care about preventing future medical mishap in the Macarthur Health Service, then they would support the Democrats push for a parliamentary Inquiry! He concluded. See terms of reference |
